Boston Tea Party 1773
On a bright cold moonlit evening on December 16, 1773 a group of sixty colonists boarded three British ships in Boston Harbor. The ships contained a cargo of tea from The East India Company. Although the tea carried a tax that the colonists refused to pay, the Royal Governor of Massachusetts Thomas Hutchinson ordered that the ships should not return to England with their cargo but that the tea be unloaded
Patriot Sam Adams immediately devised a plan whereby colonists, thinly disguised as Mohawk Indians, boarded the three ships. They broke open all 342 chests of tea and threw them overboard. This episode became a precursor on the road to independence, elevating as it did the most radical patriots in command throughout America.
Boston Tea Party 2007
The beginning of the modern day Tea Party movement started with Ron Paul and his passionate supporters earlier in 2007. A Ron Paul money bomb was scheduled for the anniversary of the original Boston Tea Party, Dec. 16, 2007. The object was to raise money for Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign. History was made that day by raising over 6 million dollars in less than 24 hr. Also that same day, Corie Whalen ( a Ron Paul supporter) organized a Boston Tea Party to be held in the historic Faneuil Hall, Boston,MA. (which is called The Cradle of Liberty). Nearly 1000 Ron Paul supporters, braved a fierce winter storm, to show up to celebrate the Ron Paul money bomb and listen to Ron Paul’s son Rand Paul and other inspiring patriots.
Boston Tea Party 2008
Inspired by Ron Paul’s message to Restore a Sound Money system , we continued the following year with the BostonTeaParty2008. We are now faced with an economic crisis. The International banking cartel are destroying our country. Our solution is to “Compete with the Fed” with a sound money system. Real “Change” will not come from the top down, but from the grassroots. More than 400 Ron Paul supporters came to Boston on December 14th, 2008 to hear the real experts talk about the real solutions as we symbolically dumped this failed fiat monetary system into the Boston Harbor.
